Seeking rest for my heart and soul

We all have those moments when we realize that something is missing in our lives.  Moments that remind us that in spite of all our efforts satisfaction escapes us.

We discover we are in deep need of something more . . . something beyond what this world can offer . . . we need God.

If this describes some of the feelings you have experienced maybe it's time to consider Jesus.   Maybe it's time to let go of our own understanding and look to the one who created us.  Maybe it's time to step out in faith and trust in God who sent his only son to die for our sins and set us free.

All of us here at Fairmount UMC are praying you will take a few moments and read the passages below, say the prayer, and find your new life in Christ Jesus.

The Roman Road to Salvation

The Roman Road is a group of Bible verses from the book of Romans found in the New Testament.  If you walk down this road you discover how to find salvation.

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23  "...But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:8  “God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!”

Romans 10:13  Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:9,10  “...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

Supporting Verses

Revelation 3:20 “Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him...”

John 1:12 “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name!”

Prayer of Salvation

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God.  Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.

I know I am a sinner and I confess and repent of my sins before you now.  Forgive me Jesus and come into my heart and life.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit and create in me a clean heart.  I receive you as my Lord and Savior and I want to serve you now and forever.  In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen!”
